Snoop® Liquid Leak Detector

We have a few ways to spot gaseous leaks. One is to immerse the parts in water to visually detect the leak, but this is not always possible, especially when dealing with installed systems and/or components. Another solution is to apply one of our Snoop® liquid leak detectors. Named Snoop because of its ability to detect even the smallest of leaks, when applied to suspect connects, the potential leak will produce bubbles. Of course, the bigger the leak, the bigger the bubbles.

Snoop is made of deionized water and a surfactant, which makes it sound a lot like soapy water. The important thing to remember with Snoop versus simple soap and water is that the Snoop will continue producing bubbles for a short period of time after being applied, whereas the soap and water may only give you one set of bubbles to observe before dissolving.

Snoop Liquid Leak Detector

The larger the leak, the bigger the bubbles.

Our Snoop formula dries clean without staining, and contains a corrosion inhibitor for added protection. We have two variations available – regular Snoop and Real Cool Snoop – for leak detection temperature environments down to -54oC. And to help troubleshoot even the most hard-to-reach places, each bottle of Snoop comes with a flexible snooper tube.

SWAK® and PTFE Tape Pipe Thread Sealants

Swagelok pipe thread sealants are compatible with a wide range of chemicals, enabling leak-tight sealing in a variety of applications. If you’re looking for an alternative to PTFE Tape, our SWAK® (Sealed With A Kiss) anaerobic pipe thread sealant shares many of the same properties. It cures to a bond that resists vibration or shock, yet allows low breakaway torque for easy-to-break connections, even after fully cured. Furthermore, SWAK lubricates threads, preventing costly thread damage due to galling and seizing during assembly.

Goop™

Swagelok thread lubricants ease assembly of leak-tight connections for a variety of metals and alloys. Our Silver Goop is an oil-based thread lubricant for use on stainless steel and other alloys in high temperature applications (up to 1500oF). Blue goop is also oil-based and can be used on stainless steel, steel, titanium, aluminum and nickel-based alloys.

Our Pure Goop is a halocarbon-based thread lubricant for use on titanium, stainless steel, steel and nickel-based alloys. Finally, our Vac Goop is a Fluorosilicone-based thread lubricant for use on threads, o-rings, gaskets, glass seals and metal parts in vacuum systems.
