Tips to Maintaining a Representative Sample in an AI System

Return to Main

Maintaining a representative sample can be a challenging proposition. Even when a sample is properly taken from the tap, there are many variables that can render the sample unrepresentative – deadlegs (or dead spaces), leaks and permeation, and adsorption to name a few.

This week Karim Mahraz, Swagelok Product Manager for Analytical Instrumentation, provides tips and corrective actions for many of the points where sample systems can falter.

Swagelok Fast Loop Module

Swagelok Calgary Custom SolutionsFast loop modules (FLM) are designed to handle high flows and long transport lines from tap to analyzer to reduce time delays for online analyzer systems. The FLM easily isolates the sample system while introducing a purge gas for system cleaning, and extracts a sample through a filter while using the high flow rate to keep the filter element clean. The FLM minimizes pressure drop for fastest response time.
